I can verify that it absolutely impacts groups run by queer communities in the Gulf, because I was in one such group that was monitored and shut down by Etidal. Telegram can fuck off into the sunset.

    Telegram is free to censor whoever they want.

    If you don’t like it, host your own messaging service. If you use specifically Telegram expecting total freedom and privacy, you are gullible or ignorant.

      Sure, but people should know they are being monitored by the Saudis, and Telegram should not be used for anything sensitive. They pretend to be a secure privacy respecting platform, but they are practicing mass surveillance and censorship.
