The last prayer in at the end, where they’re talking about what they want if they win, is the most chilling:

“Be afraid,” Tenney said. “For rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. And when Donald Trump becomes the 47th president of the United States, there will be retribution against all those who have promoted evil in this country.”

They never will, they’ll just deny that person is a real Christian and act like that’s a meaningful condemnation like they don’t say that of literally every other denomination of Christian

Misread oop, just realized you’re asking God to tell these people to fuck off lol. There’s an even bigger problem with that unfortunately

The scripture verse that’s cited most frequently in the prayers comes from 2 Chronicles.

Uhhh . . no. No it does not.

Different denominations prefer different translations. They’re using something fairly close to the King James text:

7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

And here’s a more recent scholarly translation which is used for secular studies. Which is really the same.

2 Chronicles 7:14 New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

No I mean “Two Chronicles” is not what it’s called and we’re not doing this whole “actually some people DO pronounce it noo-kyoo-lar”

        “2nd Chronicles” would be acceptable.

Every time They use the bible as a tool I die a little inside. They are no more religious then hypocrites in Mathew. They have received their reward

They’ve found their golden calf, and they’re willing to say whatever it takes to keep everyone worshipping it. (I guess that would make Biden/Harris Moses in this analogy?)

There’s likely a more proper definition for this sort of behavior, one that is possibly scientific in nature, but I’m comfortable with this term I’ve come up with: Cult Shit

They are God’s servants of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

pretty bleak choice of words for a pastor. it makes you ask as to why go for fear as propaganda when there’s better verses out there for hope, healing, and unity.

the conversations/ responses in this article reminded me of another kinda related one explaining why pride is the greatest capital sin.

Because fear and anger cause people to take action. Hope, healing, and unity et. al don’t create as much action. Especially not donations to make the scary thing (potentially) go away.

Evil people saying they’ll be retribution against evil people. Something tells me he is lying out of his ass.
