I haven’t really seen people hyping it.

Hey!
I’m new to piefed. I was a part of the Reddit migration originally. Since then, I really enjoyed the conversations.
I’m a behavior therapist by day. Otherwise a bit of an introvert/gamer. I’m always up for a conversation. Unless I’m asleep, which is earlier and earlier these days.

I love the core genres for this reason.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you make a grocery list, or do you just go to the store and wing it?English
4·1 day agoWing it. I buy the exact same food every week though.
I mean honestly that sounds like goals. Very wholesome.
38, was out last night by 11 (I tried). I don’t even drink anymore. I had a boba.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People of Lemmy: would you date a single parent?English
6·2 days agoAbsolutely. I’m also a single parent. However, my kids are big and independent. I’m not interested in replacing an absent parent or drama or starting over from littles. I have a career, I’m financially stable and content alone. So a partner would need to add to my life. I don’t think it’s impossible; I do think it’s unlikely. Kids themselves are not an outright no. Blended families can be beautiful.
Simply, to me they do not look better than a middle aged person at all. They look young and act young. Which they are, and they should. But as an adult almost old enough to be their parent…they are not attractive at all. Ick.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is something you achieved this year that you're proud of?English
3·2 days agoPassed my board
Yeah that’s a terrible scenario and sounds scary and frustrating.
I live in Connecticut. So we get a few inches usually at most. Once we got about 18 and it was a blast. So a few hours away from the good snow.
I really want this in my life.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What are therapists allowed to share about their clients?English
18·3 days agoNot anything identifying, really. My best practice is to never talk about work with those outside of the need to know group. It goes in the work box, it stays there. Unless I had a particularly traumatic day. I couldn’t hide the limp or the black eye I had a few days ago. So that is an example of the most I will share.

cats@lemmy.world•Do any of you actually call your cats by their names?English
4·3 days agoI lived with a cat, her name was Lilith. I just called her “cat” or “kitty, meoooowwww” and she came to those.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How open are you about yourself to others online in general?English
3·3 days agoI am fairly open, for a couple of reasons. I’m older now, and I have a lot of lived experience and education. Secondly, I learned a long time ago that silence can enable. I have nothing to lose by sharing my story in particular. So in certain communities I am open about difficult topics.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you honestly hate about work itself?English
251·5 days agoI just hate the shitty adults and their pointless gossip. Who does it help if you shit on someone’s haircut? No one, Michael. You ass.

Do emotions tend to feel all or nothing for you? Just curious.
Good to hear then if it isn’t unwanted weight. Food replacement stuff can be fine but it can also be super sketchy.

Mostly below freezing. It’s a crispy feeling winter.
