The United States said Tuesday that it was discussing a joint response after Iran fired a barrage of missiles at Israel, warning Tehran of “severe consequences”

As much as most people in the Middle East would like that, I don’t think it’s likely to happen. Netanyahu needs this to keep going to stay out of jail and realistically, letting Hamas and Hezbollah reconstitute themselves just gives them time to execute more terrorist attacks, which Israelis have every right to be against.

I don’t see this war getting cleaned up neatly anytime soon. The only way I can see it happening is if the U.S. steps in to militarily enforce a two-state solution with a DMZ, which they never will (and for good reason; that would be its own clusterfuck).

They don’t. If they’d just call for an equal and just peace none of this would happen.

Or stop giving Israel weapons. That’d solve the qhole thing.

That’s ridiculously naive. Hamas has been attacking Israel for a very long time and they’re not going to stop simply because Israel agrees to a ceasefire.

Or stop giving Israel weapons. That’d solve the qhole thing.

No, it wouldn’t, because Hamas would just re-arm and commit another Oct. 7th at an opportune point in the future.

Hamas has been attacking Israel for a very long time

Not longer than Israel has been occupying Gaza. Don’t get your cause and effect mixed up.

and they’re not going to stop simply because Israel agrees to a ceasefire.

They literally did. Twice. Israel then proceeded to not uphold their end of the deal.

No, it wouldn’t, because Hamas would just re-arm and commit another Oct. 7th at an opportune point in the future.

There is no place for Oct 7th (or any other acts of resistance) in a fair and just peace. Hamas didn’t attack for the lols.

Hamas is a terrorist group that has made it very clear its objective is the destruction of Israel, stop pretending they’re good guys who will stop once Israel stops.

Zionists stop by going back to their home countries.

If hamas chases them to europe, asian, africa, usa., then they’ll be on the same level.

Gotcha. So you’re literally supporting a terrorist organization. That’s enough of a reason to write you off entirely. Buh-bye.

If Israel’s treatment of its neighbors and its own non-Jewish citizens was fair and just then they wouldn’t need to worry about these kinds of attacks.

Only people who don’t know their history think that. Arabs in that region have been calling for the destruction of Israel since its inception.

Israel really is like that spoiled kid in the neighborhood who’s dad is rich and powerful. He sits there and throws rocks and makes fun of everyone and then runs and hides behind dad.

Now we’re at the point where neighborhood pets have gone missing and dad just thinks it’s odd while he looks for his hunting knife.

Little Israel would never do anything really bad. He just gets a bit rambunctious. He’s too young to know any better.

They also said Rafah was a red line and that there needs to be adequate access for humanitarian aid and that they want a two state solution and and and.

The reality is that they are hellbent on supporting the zionist ideology, even if it murders American citizens like Shereen Abu Akleh or Aysenur Eygi. Biden called the latter totally unaceptable, only to send more weapons to her murderers the next week.

Israel is the United States’ 23rd largest trading partner while the United States is Israel’s largest trading partner; two-way trade totaled nearly $50 billion by 2023 300 American mostly technology oriented companies have set up R&D centers in Israel, whilst 650 Israeli technology companies operate in the United States. Israeli American partnerships tend to contribute to relatively niche sectors of the American economy with the effect multiplying positively toward the wider economy.

Bilateral relations have evolved from an initial American policy of sympathy and support for the creation of a Jewish homeland in 1948, to a partnership that links a small but powerful state with a superpower attempting to balance influence against competing interests in the region, namely Russia and its allies. Some analysts maintain that Israel is a particularly strategic ally for the United States, and that relations with the former strengthen the latter’s influence in the Middle East. They argue the military foothold offered by Israel justifies the expense of American military aid, referring to Israel as “America’s aircraft carrier in the Middle East”.
