Of you ask me, this man is the reason for all of this. Bernie would have won reelection yesterday. Nearly anyone would have.

No, because he never said it directly just hinted at it:

Asked in October if he would only serve one term if elected, the former vice president told the Associated Press that he wouldn’t make that promise but he wasn’t deeply committed to seeking a second term.

“I feel good and all I can say is, watch me, you’ll see,” Biden said. “It doesn’t mean I would run a second term. I’m not going to make that judgment at this moment.”

However there were several advisors on his campaign that said it:

“If Biden is elected, he’s going to be 82 years old in four years and he won’t be running for reelection,” a prominent adviser to the campaign told Politico.

Anyone under the age of 60 … and as a person of colour, I hate to say it but … a white male

Elect a bunch of socially minded white male leaders for a few terms and then you can move on to a progressive modern leader like a woman of colour

We haven’t jumped into the future yet … everyone still acts like deranged cavemen so don’t hope for dramatic changes to happen like eliminating racism to take place in the space of a hundred years.

I think you might really mean just a return to “normal”, which would be a white man. I’m white and I couldn’t care less what race color or gender our leaders are.

But I sure as shit do want it back to being “boring”. The constant clown show is embarrassing and exhausting.

I agree with you. Born and raised in Florida, moved to Tennessee. I was one of those who didn’t want Biden, but was afraid taking him out of the race would escalate sexist/racist voters to sway. I think we can clearly say it swayed about 10 million people who previously voted for Biden.

Harris would have been a better president long term for this country, Biden got shit done (that was shit done in a good way). Now we are in the end of times. I’m no Democrat, but fuck did I hope they could pull off a win. 10m also is likely the number of people who will be murdered in Ukraine if all our support is pulled. Fortunately Putin and Trump don’t give 2 fucks about people, so they will work the long game and he will settle in first, and slowly pull away the blanket. And the dumbasses who voted for him will keep choking on the blanket trying to claim it isn’t true. Russia stepped back and settled in for the long war how long ago? The long game is for them now.

Iran will keep kicking them everything they need, what they don’t have, China will. Flip side is Israel. If Trump doesn’t get his family’s waterside properties they scoped values on in Gaza a few years ago… Israel will be left to the wolves as well. And don’t worry, just like last time, Hitrump doesn’t dislike Jews, it’s just good for his business. And no business matters but his

Did you ever read 1984? The proles don’t care because their lives have continued on as normal. It is definitely its own kind of privilege, but you’re also talking about someone who is making a tiny income working at a coffee shop. She’s poor and uneducated, which will continue to be to her benefit. I didn’t see her, but she’s probably white too since this is Indiana.

            She’s still a woman though.

The only way to win was going full throttle progressive and saying fuck you to Israel. Such an anti establishment display would have rivalled people’s (idiotic) perception of Trump. But instead she spent the last 3 months courting Republicans. Losing strat from the get-go.

Looking at exit polls, people were far more concerned with the economy than anything else. I don’t think Israel mattered much to average people. Biden/Harris got fucked with pandemic inflation and people are too dumb to realize it had nothing to do with them. And that will be further reinforced because inflation is under control now so Trump will look great having done nothing whatsoever.

This was totally the fault of Democrats. They are the reason they lost. Blaming anyone else or acting like it was just a coincidence is nothing more than denying reality. Israel and the Cheney parade definitely played a role. The negative ads targeting progressives like Jill Stein played a role. Kamala hiding from progressive networks that would ask real questions played a role. The Democratic party has become nothing more than a dysfunctional corporate bureaucracy that thinks they can convince everyone that shit is gold.

All that sounds like your subjective view not based on data. Not saying the DNC is perfect by any means, but it’s clear the economy was by far the #1 issue in this election. I mentioned exit polls earlier, and also Trump was way up compared to 2020 even in extremely rural counties. Israel, Cheney, Stein, etc have nothing to do with that.

It isn’t subjective. Voters will tell you why they didn’t turn out or voted third party. The economy is important, but Harris turning to Mark Cuban to push establishment messaging wasn’t a good selling point either.

They could have distanced themselves from the current administration though. They could have acknowledged that inflation has fucked most people, and be far more direct about addressing it than vague price gouging investigations that should be happening now. They could have come out in favor of any and every union striking. They could have had policies to guarantee profit sharing or granting equity. They could have made the totally empty promise of fighting for main street and not wall street.

Bruh if you’re still giving a shit about what any pre-election polls were saying after they’ve repeatedly failed to predict so many elections I don’t know what to tell you.

I said it before he stepped down- America is too misogynist and racist to vote in Harris. Even the economic left. Would Biden have done better? I can’t say. But I do think it’s pretty damning that Harris didn’t even win the popular vote like Biden and Hillary did.

You can certainly harbor contempt for the American people who choose such a morally bankrupt coalition while also recognizing that the oppositional movement has repetitively failed to inspire its own voter base to turn out.

The fact remains that the Dems have thrice now run on a platform of unity and forsaken the will of the Left in an attempt to appeal to those who would happily annihilate the Left in pursuit of its own goals.
