There are proprietary solutions. There are some open-source solutions, that’ll probably require some configuration and tuning: Tesseract OCRmyPDF Kraken EasyOCR. Don’t know if they can be selfhosted though. Keep us updated, I’ve never tried those solutions but I’m interested now.
