Summary

The Trump administration is conducting mass firings of federal employees, citing “poor performance” and “misalignment with needs.”

Critics, including former officials and labor attorneys, argue the dismissals are unlawful and could result in significant financial liabilities for the government.

A federal judge denied unions’ attempts to block the firings. Many affected employees claim strong performance records and face severe personal and financial consequences.

The firings, linked Elon Musk, have sparked calls for congressional intervention over concerns of political motivations and government dysfunction.

Ya know, I’m kinda glad he’s taking shit apart so early and so quickly. People may have complained during Biden, but we might actually get a massive, oh, 5% of the truly stupid to have to finally face that actually it’s conservatives who are the ones destroying their lives. He’s so loud about it that it’ll be hard even for them to ignore it.

That said, I still have zero positive expectations and next to no hope so we’ll have to keep acting like they won’t get it, but it’s a nice thing to think about.

Conservatives don’t believe in reality, and they’d sooner let their false beliefs kill them than give them up.

I wish you were right, but he’s already blaming the emergent failures on Biden and they are lapping it up from the Fox News echo chamber.

Shit leadership from the admin/party in charge if you ask me. But I fear asking them will always yield a different answer.

    could

That’s the key word. Or it could be swept aside like all of your other right he’s taking away with permission from Congress and the courts.

The system is broken. And now it’s being dismantled. Stop relying on it to save you. It won’t save you. Keep trying, by all means, but it’s time for other plans. Organize. Protest. Strike. Resist.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it: Donald Trump did not become President (Twice!) by listening to experts

Imagine we do take the county back from the brink; we’ll have to go back to the days of 90% tax on the mega wealthy. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

They’ll just find a way to get out of it. Like reinvesting in the long term reputation of their companies and investing in their workers.

Yeah but I imagine the tax rate is how we got out of the gilded age to begin with. We’d need sane people to hold power for longer than just 4 years, though.

federal judge denied unions’ attempts to block the firings.

This isn’t because the judge is being complicit, but rather they didn’t know if they possess the jurisdiction to do so. They suggested that it be put forward to the NLRB. However, Trumps administration has illegally fired the heads of the NLRB, reducing it below the legal number required for them to make a quorum. So that’s probably going to have to be figured out in a federal court before the NLRB does anything.

Everything is being dismantled because of our democracies inability to manage procedural doctrine. Death by paperwork is such a drab way for democracy to whimper out of existence. At least the Nazi had the Reichstag fire as a symbolic death of democracy. While were getting taken out because too many baby boomers judges are being too lackadaisical to do their jobs.

They won’t pay it. Why do people refuse to understand this. It’s a thing he’s done for decades. It’s a thing he did the first time around. This isn’t a surprise. You’re not allowed to be surprised. Fucking stop it.

I am a contractor that usually works on DOD or VA projects and until further notice I am declining all of those job offers. I realize this is not possible for all contractors but Leidos, Booze Allen, and other contractors cannot function without the work force, and as part of a protest I refuse to be part of jt.

In December he was trying to increase the debt limit and now he supposedly cares about saving money? Why isn’t that in the news?
