I found the site and tried to check, but it wouldn't show me anything without being logged in, so I created an account. Now that I'm signed in though, I can only find vague rules, like
The User's account is for personal use only. Only the individual who holds the account is allowed to connect on it. Connections to the User's account are recorded so that we can detect account sharing. The User agrees to keep his login secret, We won't offer technical support for account hacking.
How does this work with a phone or laptop, for example? What if I sign in at my parents house when I visit for a few days?
Can anyone help please?
From Real-Debrid's help section:
You can use your account from any public IP address but you can't use your account from more than one public IP address at the same time. If your devices are connected through the same router, they are getting only one public IP address and you can use as many devices you want.
So long as you're not simultaneously connecting through two different IP addresses, you're good.
Brilliant, thanks :)
I've set up a few new services lately, and at least one said that I had to always be on the same IP address, so I was a bit paranoid. Didn't help that I missed that part of the help section…
It's far from an intuitive help section, so it's easy enough to miss!
If there’s a problem and someone with admin access looks at the account and sees 20 unique IPs, some of which were logged in at the same time as others, account sharing.
They are not going to ban you because you’re logged in on some remote machine.
It’s written to make it seem like the system monitors all this in real time but it’s not. Just use the account like any other you’ll be fine.
I've been using it for many years, but only from my home. Is there any danger of getting flagged if I login to the RD website from my phone (to add something), but someone at my home is streaming from my home IP?
So what may be the cause of a person to monitor the account? Some policy violation, and then they'll see account sharing, get mad = ban? :D
No one is monitoring your account. The system is logging stuff. Your IP. Login attempts. Etc. that’s just default. In case an admin needs to pull details of an account.
Most of what they are talking about is automated handled by the system they are using as it interacts with the database.
You’re thinking of a team of 12 in lab coats in front of cyber terminals. It’s more like a Reddit mod type of situation with a couple of dudes in their underwear with a notebook on their laps.
Just don’t share your account. It’s unlikely you’ll get flagged for anything nefarious if you aren’t actually doing anything nefarious. I’m sure whatever they have in place can handle a modern world where people log into stuff from phones and tablets and PCs and just about anything.
That's good to know, thanks :)
You can use it on as many devices as you want, as long as they have the same IP address. The service will not work if you log in from 2 separate IPs, and you could get banned for that. As long as someone isn’t streaming from your home IP, you can log in while visiting your parents to watch. Basically just make sure if you use multiple devices they are on the same Internet connection.
If you go to the help section and search for “IP” you can get more info!

This is what I also have AD, as backup and when I'm travelling for work.
I keep RD just for the house.
Excuse me, but what is AD?
AllDebrid, a similar service to RealDebrid.
Thanks a lot
Alldebrid I'm guessing
AD is a good service, it’s just a shame the library tends to be smaller. I use Easynews as a backup to my RD, luckily so far haven’t needed to actually use it!
To be fair as a backup I've almost never used it, but I travel quite a bit for work so it gets used when I'm travelling so there's never a risk of sharing IPs on RD.
Thanks for replying :)
I had a feeling that it would be something like that, but I get a bit paranoid about setting up new services sometimes.
I don't know how I missed the part in the help section though >.<
