Oh, oh, I see, running away then. You yellow bastard! Come back here and take what’s coming to you. I’ll bite your legs off!

Sore throat? … I’m 45 and I have the start of arthritic disease … last week I woke up with a pain in my shoulders, by the end of the day, I couldn’t lift my arms and the pain was unbearable - it felt like my arm wanted to separate from my body (and I actually wanted it to just to end the pain!) … at one point in your life as you get old, you wish it were just a sore throat.

How is it sleeping with a CPAP? It looks wildly uncomfortable to me. But I suppose it beats suffocating in my sleep…

Between having to wear the mask and the noise, I imagine I would have many bad nights of sleep until I got used to it. Probably would make working a real challenge.

I know someone with one. They’re apparently pretty alright, doesn’t really notice it anymore. The QoL improvement from it though was night and day.

Pshh have you seen how small the CPAP machines have gotten? My grandfather had one the size of a mini-fridge and now they are the size of a toaster.

Sadly, a CPAP generally does not alleviate - and might even aggravate - symptoms from a cold, the flu, etc. There are some exceptions, but most recommendations I’ve read suggest temporarily desisting use of the CPAP when ill.
