Can I put on a different sweater underneath the wool one? My answer will highly depend on this
Happens a lot with car rke fobs, I usually have to replace the housings and buttons all together for a permanent fix. I tried the super glue and aluminum foil method and it temporarily works. Nothing I used to attach the aluminum to the worn button pad really results in a long term fix though (super glue, silicone, epoxy, hot glue). Is this a better solution?

Dang didn’t think of a nuclear site. Was thinking more along the lines of a protected area. The only problem with toxic environment would be protecting the material itself in a budget friendly way
Screw it go for it think the only thing holding you down is cost of materials and machining especially if you’re adding a message to it, if its just an artifact/statue you’re shooting for maybe opt for a more budget and workable material than tungsten. Some kind of industrial metal you can work with like steel or even aluminum may be a better alternative stone material (granite or marble) being the best IMO for longevity, encase it in epoxy and then put in a PVC pipe with desiccant for added measure. Finding a location where it won’t be disturbed is probably the hardest part of this. Can’t be exposed to UV light or harsh chemicals, so ocean is out (think its illegal to dump there too). If burying, it needs to be below the frost line for sure in fairly stable ground, with good chemical makeup of the soil, where people won’t interact with it. I personally can’t come up with a legal means so you might have to get permission from some kind of protected grounds like a national park or something. Even then at most it will last maybe a couple thousand years, longer if using stone material instead of metal

So far, a 2010 Malibu I like how it looks but as a non-mechanic working on it SUCKSSS. No rear jacking point because of the exhaust so lifting the entirety is a pain, changing the damn fuel filter is awful again because of the exhaust, 6 speed transmissions have the vss inside the transmission instead so its a hassle to change vs being mounted outside the passenger side like on the 4 speed, the tiniest space to change the serpentine belt, pinch welds (I know its the norm but I hate it), programming an extra fob requires a scanner that can do so ($400+ on amazon), it has the shortest battery cables which are crimped so changing the connectors (due to corrosion) will require either putting new cable or moving the battery orientation and somehow locking down the battery after you cut the wires, some have faulty door lock actuators (guess who got lucky and got the faulty ones), no transmission dip stick so good luck getting the right level using that damn screw it has on the transmission, flimsy trunk board and spare tire doesn’t sit leveled (DIYed my solution) and lastly in my experience THE DAMN HEADLIGHTS. You’d think it would be easy to change the headlights, but noooo its a massive pain. Besides that I like the flex fuel variant, gets good mileage. Replaceable parts and liquids are easy to get and affordable, has a good community online plus I think it’s pretty so I’m going to keep using it (currently fighting a mysterious problem and I’m just seeing what sticks in terms of a solution)
Honestly thought I’d see more phones, with desktop modes, replace laptops in day to day life.
My Roommate Is a Cat is hard to beat in my opinion.
Monk, Psych, white collar and Frasier are probably my most favorite shows ever. They have all the things i want in a show, comedy and some drama, and really immersed me into the plot
Yeahhh kinda seems like a medical thing you should talk to a doctor.
Oh that’s smart. Would it essentially be just a miracast dongle thing?
Yeah that’s why I said it needs to be refreshed and also edited in an option for m-disc in case they want to go the optical route
Of course you can use another storage media, like m disc,
You’ll just have to dig it up and refresh everything every couple of years, think 3 years at most iirc for consumer ones
oh my bad i was referring to the storage capacity difference between ssds and m-disc. I’ll edit it in
Think they meant a blu-ray drive that could burn to a m-disc.
Might be a dumb idea but hear me out. How about sealing a reputable enterprise or consumer SSD in one of those anti static bags with a desiccant and then sealing that inside a pvc pipe also with desiccant and then burying it below the frost line? You’ll just have to dig it up and refresh everything every couple of years, think 3 years at most iirc for consumer ones. Obviously this isn’t a replacement for a backup solution just archival so no interaction with it. It’ll protect it from the elements, house fires, flooding, temperature fluctuations pretty much everything and its cost effective. Hell you can even surround the hard drive bag in foam then stuff in the pvc pipe for added shock absorption. Make a map afterwards like a damn pirate (its night time so my bad if I sound deranged)
edit I took a nap: in hindsight I should’ve clarified. I went with an ssd in this idea since its more durable than a mechanical, better price for storage capacity compared to m-disc, and most likely to be compatible with other computers in the future in case you need it for whatever reason. Of course you can use another storage media, like m disc, just know of the drawbacks. Like needing a m-disc burner (~100$), several discs depending on how big of a capacity you need (price varies), pray that there’s still a drive that can read m-disc in the future and know that’s its gonna be slow when getting your data back regardless. All you would have to do to modify the idea would be getting a disc case that kinda suspends the disc so nothing is touching it’s surfaces. Then the same idea: antistatic bag with desiccant, foam or even bubble wrap around it, stuffed in a pipe with desiccant buried below your frost line. People usually skip the “in optimal conditions” part when talking about m-disc but this way we get close to those optimal conditions
The only one i can think of is people not saving their old toothbrushes. A small brush comes in real handy for a lot of situations
