Nah, they gave voters plenty to be hopeful about but none of them actually want that future. The choice was pretty damn clear.

The one time I played goon of fortune I woke up in a Bush in the dunedin botanical gardens using the goonbag as a pillow. I had a ripped up shirt and jeans and it was very cold and a security man was shining a touch in my face. He drove me home, very nice guy.
I knew I was getting old when I bought a box of goon and didn’t immediately rip the the bag out of the box.
This is so black pilling
Nice balls dude
Based schizo post
Yes I know they didn’t do it enthusiastically but that’s what happens when you’re under the government. Bytedance has no obligation to do the same.
thanks and holy shit thats a lot of revenue
Not the point. Not what I was saying at all.
The point is AP is a platform for anyone to build their app on. If someone wants to build an app they can build it with their own UI/algo/whatever feature and monetization model they want. They don’t need to go to AT for that. As long as their ads(or however they choose to monetize) isnt federating to other instances then no other fediverse users would care.
removing the cost of R&D I would assume its profitable right? Once the model is trained running it takes significantly less computing. OpenAI has a fuck ton of customers so I would assume they are making back the cost of running their model API.
Thats fine no one is saying you should watch ads. The discussion is that VC people need to build a brand new app on the AT protocol because there is no money in the fediverse. But everything they want to build on AT can be done on Activity pub. As long as they arent federating the ads then no one outside their instance should care.
Tiktok is worse because Facebook and Twitter cooperate with governments to remove misinformation. As well as allow governments to review their algorithm.
Misinformation is going to exist. What’s bad is when a platform is pushing it intentionally and your government has no power to remove it.
Even small countries like New Zealand were able to work with Facebook to get content removed.
You could argue that Twitter and Facebook are now doing exactly what tiktok is accused of doing but the difference is that the next American president supports them promoting this misinformation.
A paid instance with high quality UI/ux and stability would actually be good. They can display ads to their hearts content. It just requires them to take the risk and develop it. There is already a solid base to start.
No, the way the hearing went the judges said this case sets low precedent and it’s not banned it’s forced to divest.
Tiktok can remain with the exact same algorithm, same content it just can’t be owned by ByteDance and closed source. The court said opening sourcing the algorithm and platform was also an option.
They can’t intervene. It was decided in court. Trump might intervene because he doesn’t care about following the law.
The front page of Reddit was the same 10 usernames for majority of the sites existence. I wouldnt be surprised if it was still the same users just using multiple accounts because so many people blocked their mains.
Its wild to me how active lemmy feels compared to mastodon. I told my normie friends about it when I found out about it during the migration and they insisted that it would die and recently I was able to update them and say its still going strong and its got its own unique vibe that feels different from reddit.
I personally don’t see the value add of e2e encryption to public posts in a federated social media.
DMS are the only place I could see it being beneficial.
Lol what details could hamas have possibly backed out of? The ceasefire is so barebones
I would also like to see people punished for their warcrimes but considering most of the Hamas leadership is dead and Israel considers international law to be a suggestion I think there is some chance of that.
I dont think casualties rates are relevant when considering a prisoner exchange rate.
I’m mad here at this ceasefire because it’s an artificial end to the fighting. Its peace for the sake of peace and does not resolve any points of conflict. With no security arrangements and no sovereignty agreements the war has achieved nothing and both sides are taking 5 steps back. With no satisfactory off road provided for the Palestinian people there is no option to for them to develop and thus they will continue to repeat the cycle.
I followed the different negotiations and there were times where both sides has reasonable proposals with 1 unagreeable part that neither side would budge off and the deal fell apart. If they had just come to an agreement on that 1 part they both could walk away with progress but instead we get this ceasefire where both walk away with nothing.
Because the statement is so stupid there is no way its true. He says Elon knows more about these voting computers than anyone one else and was able to rig it. Obviously that statement is not true Elon knows nothing about voting machines.
We can pretend to believe Trump just to hold his feet to the fire but he’s so slippery he will slip out and we will be left sitting here looking like idiots for believing the dumb claim.
