  • Looks really slick, there are some really nice looking features shown. I do have some concerns though.

First, it requires playstore to be installed. I try to degoogle my device as much as possible so Im not sure this would even work with MicroG Services.

Second it seems like a proprietary software built on Open Source platform. Right now they claim they dont do anything with our data, but that is one policy update from, ‘actually the data we have been collecting is now actually worth something sooo…’

Lastly, as a proprietary software company they have this pesky link at the bottom of their page Pricing. Currently it doesnt link to anything, and honestly that has me more worried than if it just showed a page that said we are trying to figure out how to make money off our users, and we dont know how yet. I dont have an issue paying for software I use. There are a couple open source projects I pay monthly/yearly fees to. I just prefer it to be up front. If they said they were open sourcing the code and want a subscription fee, I would be on board. No plan is kinda sketchy.

  • we are seeing a resurgence of New World Screwworms. We eradicated it in the US in 1966, however, we have since seen a resurgence. Basically we used sterile males to make sure no new worms would be born in the US but thats a big border, so we worked with Mexico and other north and Central American countries to push it down past panama. Unfortunately when republicans find out we are spending money fighting disease in other countries, they think why help them? and kill funding. So now we are going to have to spend a shitload more money to defend our wide ass border, rather than a fraction of the cost defending a natural border.

  • I switched to Nobara a couple months ago. My computer is a lot snappier. Overall its great. Some minor difficulties but no show stoppers.

Signal desktop gives me an error that it is keeping credentials in plaintext which is fucked, I tried to get it to not do that but havnt been able to figure out how. (there are tutorials for ubuntu/gnome, but I havnt figured out how to translate those to fedora/kde…

I just started using crow-translate which is amazing, but keep getting a screenshot error message. Something with wayland maybe? again when I search there is a lot of shit about ubuntu/gnome but that doesnt really help.
