I’m assuming you mean the US gov’t debacle? It’s already been proven that they were using a fork, not the genuine Signal app. The fork was built with a back door. As far as I’m aware (and please correct me if I’m wrong) Signal has yet to be hacked and is currently among the most secure options.

It’s almost like the US gov’t might benefit from convincing its citizens that the fully encrypted messaging app is dangerous so they should just go back to Whatsapp and Telegram.

If Canada became fully independent from the Crown we’d have to draw up a completely new constitution as the current one is tightly tied to the Crown. Personally, I don’t trust anyone these days to create a new constitution, as an unfortunate chunk of the country seems to want to eliminate current rights as it is. For as much as some Canadians want or demand to remove the Crown from Canada, it’s really not feasible, and could potentially (probably) completely destroy the country.

There’s no point in saying technically, he is the King of Canada. That being said the Crown is mostly symbolic like the UK, however symbols can be very powerful. By inviting the King to open Parliament, Carney is symbolically reminding Trump that Canada is much bigger than just one country. Likewise the Chiefs are reminding Canada, specifically Alberta, that the Crown holds the treaties, not Canada.

Basically this is like getting picked on in school then bringing your big brother to lunch. He doesn’t have to do anything, the point is to remind your bullies you have some pretty strong support, and they should think again about continuing to bully you.

I run everything through Picard when I add something to the server. Sometimes I have to change the metadata (for example I hate having an entry for ‘&’ like Elton John & Hans Zimmer and I’ll change it so the album is included in both Elton John and Hans Zimmer but theres no entry for them together). Absolutely. I never imagined I’d pay for search but Kagi is leaps and bounds better than other search engines. I decided to pay when I realized how much I search every day after getting the free trial. Went through 100 searches in four days. If I search that much, paying for an engine that has no ads, uses useful lenses, and lets me block results from sites like Facebook was a no-brainer.

This is what I don’t get from a business standpoint. Why would anyone buy an AI read audiobook for $20 when they can get the exact same audio by buying the ebook for $0.99 and running it through AI?
