It hurts me that people don’t realise you know where the sun rises and sets (roughly), anywhere, by looking up and roughly knowing what time it is. Other than midday, then fair enough.

I don’t like the overall message society gives that men need to be “good at sex” instead of people mutually enjoying the experience.
To me it’s akin to someone calling you boring to talk with, while they contribute nothing to the conversation other than showing up.
Please think of your family haha: https://www.wikihow.com/Enable-the-Double-Tap-Period-Shortcut-on-an-iPhone Or https://www.techbone.net/android/user-manual/double-space-full-stop
If you use a different keyboard, then you’re on your own.
Or just don’t double tap space!
Funnily enough, this is the case for men too. Hence all the “this has never happened to me before” memes on TV shows in the 90s and 00s.
I can’t wait for the budget framework to come out, 1 because current lineup is expensive (well, more than I’d like to spend on a laptop. I’ll run my shitty 2018 Microsoft Surface Pro 6 into the ground), but 2 because the product will be even more polished by that time.
Can’t wait to have a laptop and then just have it for like 10 years. Especially if it’s Linux out of the box 👍👍
300 Nazis outing themselves and going to prison to (hopefully) be rehabilitated with counseling?
Don’t threaten me with a good time.
(I am aware the prison system is not super fantastic in Australia, but we’re miles ahead of the US, and some of this 300 may actually be dissuaded. And also, they’re Nazis, so. If you believe your fellow human beings are animals, then you don’t get free speech, sorry.)
I will be shocked if the cost of living comes down at a notable rate when compared to other developed countries.
Conservatives have never been better at managing the economy, yet people believe they are, for some reason ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I completely seriously, put forth that it’s the soul-crushing, rampant late-stage capitalism, with poor worker protections, much more than the lack of political freedom, is what is driving the low birth rates. (Now, obviously different story during one child policy).
I just think people are way to quick to overlook the economics, which is currently happening almost everywhere (the stupid house prices, real wages not keeping up with price inflation, the wealth gap between the richest and poorest of a nation getting larger, etc)
If China became a mutli-party representative democracy overnight, you can bet your ass no one is going to be having any more children than they are right now.
If you were to ask the average Chinese person if they support their government, the answer would be yes, despite what some people outside China would like to believe. (On average, of course there are still a notable number who aren’t happy at all with the government).
I can’t believe this is actually real, or the most professional looking joke I’ve seen in a while: https://theowo.london/

Yeah :( Big sad, both for you as a citizen of the US (I presume), and for me, as someone under the thumb of the US’s sphere of influence.
Stay safe out there next week. I’m presume it’s gonna get wild.
Y’all need to unify your federal election into an actual federal election. Not 50 separate ones.
It would be a lot harder to pick and choose battleground states for lawsuits if you 1. Change the voting system yes, but also and importantly 2. Have consistent rules and voting infrastructure across the whole country.
Having to understand 50 separate election rules makes it way easier to sow doubt.
I am aware there are also some federal laws on voting, but still.
We’re seeing in real-time why maintaining a coherent, unified, transparent voting system and communicating how and why it’s secure against tampering is so important. It needs to be difficult to sow doubt in the election, and you can only achieve this through simple to understand and explain methods.
Because if the average person can be convinced it’s not secure and legitimate, then it doesn’t matter what the reality is.
This is why I’m so sick of people pointing out the defamation lawsuits from the voting machine companies as some kind of win for the democratic process.
Voting machines have been just one of the many ways the Republicans have sown doubt over the results. Stop using voting machines, obviously (in my opinion. There’s also 2 great videos from Tom Scott on the topic)
Important things to get right:
And obvious move away from FPTP, but everyone is already calling for that.
Armchair citizen under the American empire, giving you my 2¢.
3000€ seems like barely a drop in the bucket of campaigning costs, totally worth it lol. To the point that’s not even a disincentive.
Here’s the link to the actual speech from Sanders: https://youtu.be/Vf5MThSniiY
I came to the Politics community 9 hours after it was posted to find discussion. Nothing.
Personally I feel an exception should be made when the news is literally just a video, why wait for a journalist to regurgitate it in written form?
Anyway
To me it’s telling that among all of the restaurants in my city, the only French restaurants are outrageously fancy ones.
(Not counting patisseries)
I’m sure home cooking in France is fine, but because of the mix of cultures in Melbourne, I guess I just have never understood what the fuss about French food is.
Clearly it’s not winning any hearts here because I never seen any restaurants that normal people go to.
Or I am just biased against fancy food in general.
But Italian food? Yeah, everywhere.
You are aware of first past the post right? That really needs to be the first thing on your agenda to get fixed. Until then, the USA will ALWAYS be a two-party system (with brief blips in change over).
