  • 2016 and the yeas since, but especially the US presidential election that just happened, have absolutely destroyed my faith in the people of my country.

Always figured the govt was fucked, but that the average Joe had a shred of good in him. After the bullshit of the 2016 election, the 4 disastrous years after, and the 4 years following of nonstop Nazi rhetoric from Trump… 74 million of my neighbors decided he’s the guy who represents them; and another 90 million or so decided not to lift a fucking finger to intervene.

No. Good people are a minority. I’m surrounded by hateful bigots who will go as far impairing their own quality of life if it means they can can harm others by doing so. This country and the majority of its inhabitants are evil. We deserve what’s coming.

  • Just because we always have doesn’t mean we always will.

We’re managing our planet like a chronic drunk driver who’s somehow never had a collision. “It’s fine, I do this all the time!”

All it takes is one ‘not fine’ and the story’s over.

I just hope whatever emerges from the ashes evolves to be a species that’s less of a dickhead than humans. …assuming anything emerges from the ashes; that isn’t a guarantee either.

  • I was an active duty surgical tech in the US military; promoted fairly quickly and ranked up to Staff Sergeant at about 3 years. Shortly after taking that rank, we had a perfect storm of deployments, a retirement, a medical separation, etc that left me as the highest ranking enlisted in the surgery unit, which made me (a still-kinda-newby-surgical-tech) taking the responsibilities of basically a charge nurse. Chief among these was attending morning morning briefs with the top dogs of the hospital (high ranking officers) and giving report. Fortunately I knew where to access the OR’s metrics, so my report was always just a summary of our case load, average times, etc.

This lasted only about a week until we got a new Master Sergeant and Tech Sergeant. Apparently I got some pretty high praise from those top dogs for stepping up (not like I had a choice) and doing a decent job – but that was PURE luck lol. I only did well because things went relatively smoothly on their own. If there was an emergency or something I would have had no fucking clue what to do; and all the junior enlisted seemed to just know that I wouldn’t have been able to do shit for them during that time, so everyone kept the smaller fires to themselves during that time.

    It was a weird time.

  • Ignoring every other part of this movement, the ‘no children’ bit is a question of safety.

Even where the laws aren’t dystopian nightmare shit, and you have a healthcare team on standby to provide the best care they can without needing to worry about legal fuckery, pregnancy and delivery can still kill you cuz that shit is insanely brutal.

Disallow that team from intervening when there’s a miscarriage or some other complication and the mortality rate skyrockets, as seen in red states post-Roe.

That’s about to be the whole country soon. Ladies, if you do get pregnant, have a plan, and a backup plan, and a backup-backup plan etc with where to go and what to do if shit even even starts to feel like it’s hitting the fan.

…also if you don’t already have a passport, now might be a good time.

If I were in your shoes, I’d be scheduling a hysterectomy ASAP. And remember your doc isn’t going to do a background check or anything, so if they start giving you the shit about “nooo you’re too young, you might regret it later!” just remember that your uterus is causing you 10/10 pain, and it makes it almost impossible to accomplish any normal tasks, and even starting to cause suicidal ideation; also you already have 4 kids with 3 dads and feel like you’ve lost control of your life, etc… probably not all at once or they’ll know you’re bullshitting, but the point is denying women’s healthcare is a problem that goes way beyond abortion, and if lying is what you need to do to receive care, then don’t hesitate to do it.

Good luck everyone. This situation is absolute shit.

  • It’s going to take more than just replacing the leadership. Every e-nothing gets that same training; whether illegal orders are coming down from the president himself or their immediate supervisor or anyone in between, they’ll be met with resistance.

Now, there are plenty of trumpanzees among the ranks who will put their loyalty to Agent Orange over their country and constitution, and do whatever he says no questions asked, just as it is with the non-military population. So, if we see an ‘order 66’ event, what’s going to happen is a SHIT TON of in-fighting within the ranks to the point that our military readiness is going to nosedive, leaving us vulnurable to other forms of attacks, but I don’t see troops actually hitting the streets like that in any organized fashion.

Again though, what I’m worried about are the cops. They’re already completely loyal to that shitstain, and have a long and regular history of extreme unnecessary violence and not actually following the law. And they’re already mobilized and infused into every single city in the US. Combine that with the civilian trumpanzees and we’ve got a very large force that have been itching for a civil war for like a decade at least.

  • make dumb the norm

That’d be a huge improvement over where we’re at now:

    ^evil is the norm.

Trump’s 1st victory, sure we could give the benefit of the doubt and blame it on a combination of stupidity and shit like the electoral college. But then we all saw 4 years of him attacking our country from the oval office, and another 4 years of hearing his Nazi rhetoric… and people fucking it. It isn’t just stupid… those 74 million voters have eyes and ears, and weren’t born the day before the election - they knew exactly what they were voting for. Trump’s message of harming thy neighbor resonates with the average voter.

…if humanity were just stupid but not evil, that’d be a borderline utopia compared to what we’re about to plunge into.
