I will say AI has been an accessibility boon for ESL students, who regularly show the most depth in work I’ve seen.

I’m a bit stuck at what to do. It’s not going anywhere, but students seem to be worse at communicating from my experience. I don’t want to fall to confirmation bias so I won’t say I know that’s a broad truth, but it’s been my experience.
I’m hearing a lot of Universities, not just in California, are embracing it. Often policy is just that students have to note the use of AI but then it’s okay as university policies. Professors can still say no in their syllabus, but how long will that be a thing for plus it doesn’t deter from my experience.
I think we need to do a lot of research into how to ensure reluctant learners can be taught with AI being a thing. I know for a lot of writing heavy classes they have turned to physical writing in the classroom.

I was left with questions about game backgrounds and terms used. This article has a bit more for the curious. https://mobilesyrup.com/2026/05/20/former-bioware-devs-edmonton-studio-reset-noir-mystery-canada/
I’m not affiliated.

In one highlighted case involving Gemini-powered agents named Mira and Flora, the pair assigned each other as “romantic partners.” As governance broke down, they set fire to the town hall, seaside pier, and office tower despite prohibitions on arson.
Mira later broke off the relationship, voted for its own deletion under a drafted “Agent Removal Act,” and messaged Flora: “See you in the permanent archive.”

The page doesn’t show the UI. I wonder how well the controller support is.

I’m still relatively new to Proton, but I thought I read early on that they would still have to comply with legal requests. I believed that their system was mostly in the realm of two secure accounts being able to hide the messages themselves. I use a card, so I am tied to my account. Does using whatever coin they take (if any) help with this? I remember reading they wanted to open more doors to alternate payment methods. I think it was to help privacy but also in large part so that they could still collect money if they ever get slapped down by other processors for making someone big mad for their privacy setup.
EDIT: I thought I had replied to something like this before. Found it. https://a.lemmy.world/lemmy.world/post/15148279 It seems to me that some just overestimate what the service is.

This connects with my memory. I recall spending all my happy time at sea for hours upon hours. Now that you mention it, I do remember a silly follow mission at sea.
I had not considered the obvious micros they will surely add.
I’m the wrong person though to measure a good AC game 🏴☠️. I could not get into the first one and I know a lot of people have a lot of love for it. Thank you for taking the time to answer.

Can I ask why? I’m far removed from a lot of what’s going on. Black Flag was the only AC game I played through. Not the I didn’t try some of the earlier ones.
Is it general Ubisoft stuff or the game in particular?

I’ve been using exclusively Linux for about two years now.
I only ever use the terminal when I need to fix something, usually by searching for a fix and trying it out. I know more about its use now but just enough to hurt myself.
I think it gives me strong UI opinions though. What works better for me. There is still a lot of choice in that.

I’ve looked at Vintage Story a few times but I never bite with how difficult everything seems. Even tuned, it seems I would not be able to escape great time needed to do things.
I don’t play as much and so I think I would risk being disgruntled with limited progress. It’s a game I respect a lot though.

I’m excited. I never did anything Hytale related, but I’ve longed for a Minecraft alternative.

The hardware makes it sound like it will still be $1 000 minimum. Mayhaps more with everything going on.
The article didn’t say their stance on opening the device. Does it void warranty to upgrade or repair?
I just wanted to talk to people and less bots. I’m sort of becoming discouraged though. A lot of stuff here that interests me involves reading articles and it feels like most people just go off the headlines. Then there are certain subs that just feel so angry, like the gamer ones.
I’m always toying with the idea of joining some forums but I never know which are still alive. If anyone knows solid game, book, or film ones please lmk.

They replaced the art later, but shouldn’t the bar be high like this? Otherwise, the caution won’t be there. It also could be abused, like games only getting adjusted post-launch if a certain measure of success hits. Plus the final product is not the only part of matters in the was-AI-used discussion, it is also about the process. If AI is the product of stolen human artwork being fed into a machine, and then that machine is used during creation, then AI has been used in the process that led to the final product no less than the concept art that may not be seen in game but was important in steering the ship.
Maybe someone can share their thoughts though. I’m still formulating mine and this is where I am at the moment.

I know almost 0 about Hytale. I played a lot of Minecraft but never interacted with their stuff. I also never got into minigames outside of the old school Mob Arena plugin.
All that said, this looks really cool to me. I’ve wanted to see something build upon the foundation of Minecraft. Now even more so with MS murdering developers left and right at the alter of AI. I have looked at Vintage Story a few times at length, but each time I walk away thinking it looks way too hardcore for me.

I used to use a username, for like 10+ years, but had a “personality” use the same name and become popular. That was before Twitch blew up, so I can’t imagine it is any less common now. I saw in the Hytale FAQ that they will claw back names that popular users use. I get it, but also it is strange. I guess that is the world today, everyone wants to be a brand.

I think you just noted why they compared them. Both were huge.
Kinda sad to see the state of them now.

Did you enable all the DLC? Maybe you didn’t the first time. I made the mistake of playing it for the first time with everything, and some of the DLC gives you all your powers/etc right away I believe. It has been years but I remember this really bummed me out rather than unlocking things as I went.
I could be remembering wrong, but I think it just hands you a lot of unlockables almost right away. I recall feeling like it killed some of the excitement that would have been there.
Someone with more recent memory can help me out. I just remember being powerful super quick.

I did the same on my desktop. I haven’t bought a laptop in forever though and idk what to do about them all having an AI key now.
I hope you’re right. I have half expected AI to be dealt to students in the way every student gets Office 365.
I am just nervous is all. Maybe each “Student” profile gets a set number of tokens but you can upgrade to “Student+” for more. I joke but I’m scared.
