  • Representive democracy is deprecated anyway. Its just too easy to bribe 300-600 politicians. We should have had direct democracy for 20 years.

You could vote on bills that are important to you directly and hand everything else to your representative. Via internet you could change things on a daily basis if they start to act weird.

For stubborn boomers, they could forfeit their voting rights for the entire legislature to their favourite influencer politician. If thats what tickles their fancy.

Buuuut they dont want this because thats their living. And its a good one with all those bribes and market manipulation. This isnt new for trump and this is not only a conservative problem.

  • not really much normal people can do. voted green on the basis of them pushing work from home (30% carbon reduction) but once in office they dropped that idea, implemented “turbo migration” and forced homeowners (mainly famillies who took loans) to take out more loans to install solar while reducing paid parental leave. basically worst backstab me and my family have ever seen.

even if france as a whole turned 0 emissions, that wouldnt change anything if everyone else is doing business as usual.

  • There’s no party regarding the needs of the middle. Lefty parties cherish asylum seekers or people on wellfare, party because they think it will give them votes. Centrist parties cherish companies, employers. Rightwing parties are (claiming to) mind the middle. Its hard to explain families the parental leave gets cut over and over again but the country has open arms for foreigners. Its hard to explain why a family where both work has trouble to find a big enough flat and they barely see their children over the day while those who dont work get a flat for free with all the time they want. AfDs solution was back to traditional values, which isnt good but better than whatever bullshit we have now. There is another party BSW which wants bigger social security but they didnt make the 5% barrier. So basically people flock to whomever promises to help and didnt fuck them over (yet). The “firewall” against AfD doesnt help as they never had to make difficult descisions but can always yell “we would have made it better”. I can understand theit voters.

  • really depends how serious/deep you want to research. start with wikipedia. i catch myself asking the AI for a basic understanding and further sources. if you really want to dig deep try to find universities with public curicullum. They just list the reviewed literature they build their courses on. At last, for scientific research there are peer reviewed papers but i felt like many of them are mixed quality and just a means for graduation of doctorands. So books should accumulate the good ones and their findings in a coherent way after all.
