For a while I was tracking my expenses in a LibreOffice Calc sheet since they are not complex, but I heard positive things about these two from other users:

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do I keep seeing 444 everywhere?English
231·14 days ago
Personally I would rather be alone than be on either end of such a relationship, but as long as everyone involved consents and understands their role in it, I don’t have moral objections to the concept of it either.
Private Parts chose a bad moment to stand at attention.

Technology@lemmy.world•Deezer says 44% of songs uploaded to its platform daily are AI-generated | TechCrunchEnglish
601·14 days agoFrom Deezer’s website, the detection system tags songs that are either fully AI generated rather than produced or mastered with the help of AI tools. You can also appeal if you believe your music was falsely flagged.
I strongly oppose the use of generative AI in art but if it has to be done, it should at least be labeled as AI (ideally by the “creator” themselves).
I wonder how accurate the AI detection tools are though, considering how common are posts where AI detection tools used in schools falsely flagged student assignments.
There was a song I quite liked which had several million views on YouTube which I was surprised to see was flagged as AI generated. No one I showed it to it could hear any obvious signs of AI. The main red flags were that the artists released several albums in a short time span and had no online presence on any platform you would expect to see musicians on (Bandcamp, Discogs, etc) besides YouTube and the streaming ones.
There was a story circulating a few years ago about a pair of twins who strive to be “the most identical twins in the world”, which includes sharing a fiancé and timing their pregnancies for the same date. It is not mentioned whether they bang each other though (not something I care to speculate about lol).
I suppose the first step to making the OP’s fantasy possible would be having massive amounts of money.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the most moving experience you've ever had?English
11·17 days agoYou have a way with words. There’s no way to precisely express the impact of that sound to someone who hasn’t heard it before but you came very close. Beautifully written.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a gadget or appliance that you purchased that you would wholeheartedly recommend to others?English
16·17 days agoStick blender! I delayed buying one because I thought the regular blender I had was enough, but this one is so convenient for sauces and soups.
e-reader: another item I delayed buying for too long because I believed paper books were better. I bought a Kobo and ended up reading more often.
Another unrealistic body standard for Hymenoptera.

(The thin-waisted wasps are mud daubers for anyone wondering. And chunky bees are adorable.)

politics @lemmy.world•Billionaire Trump hasn’t heard of a ‘corner store’ and laments poorer people ‘don’t think in terms of deductions’ at tax eventEnglish
44·18 days agoTrump’s own tax policies both increased the standard deduction and restricted itemized deductions. Not only that, but most average to low income Americans don’t have enough of the kind of deductible expenses that would make itemized deductions the better choice over standard.
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA)slightly increased the standard deduction…
The The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) eliminated or restricted many itemized deductions for 2018 through 2025. This, together with a higher standard deduction, reduced the number of taxpayers who itemize deductions…
And she knows you’re after her booty when you buy her a drink (rum…how original).
Oh they know there’s a difference, or else they wouldn’t strategically shit the opposite color of the object they target.
(Jokes aside, the white portion of bird droppings is uric acid and the dark portion is fecal matter, which they excrete from the same opening).

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•We thought it would be free foreverEnglish
9·23 days agoIt was free when you used LimeWire to download LimeWire Pro
Edit: thought this was about free vs. pro versions. Good memories from LimeWire days. There are still ways to download what you need though.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What are some good communities to follow for someone who is just getting into lemmy?English
1·1 month agoWhat are his interests? I can make a few suggestions based on them. There is a search bar where he can filter for communities containing keywords he looks for. I also suggest browsing by All, subscribing to communities that interest him, and blocking the communities and users (sometimes it’s a handful of users sharing unwanted content around multiple communities) he doesn’t want to see.
Enough talk, let’s get to the guac guac.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are the subtitles in your language (other than English) bad when watching a movie?English
5·1 month agoOne of the benefits of speaking a less popular language is that subtitles (downloaded separately since they’re rarely offered as a built-in option) are usually pretty accurate since they are submitted by a handful of native speakers instead of run through translation software. It’s not perfect all the time, but certainly understandable.
Semi-related, I used to translate song lyrics on lyricstranslate.com and would add context in a footnote for parts where a literal translation would not work well. It was annoying when users would submit translations that were obviously run through Google Translate and without any nuance or explanation.
Thank you for the detailed answers and for sharing your perspective :)

I noticed many brands and restaurants have started skimping on filling. I always joke that I would bankrupt any restaurant I own because I do not go light on the flavorful ingredients.
