Not mine, but my uncle’s story. In the late 70s or 80s, can’t remember, my uncle was a young man in Boston, MA. On this day his manager was scrambling to look for him and told him that he had to drive a VIP somewhere. He was speechless, and asked wtf is going on ? He had a humble tiny hatchback manual drive ford fiesta? with only a driver’s side mirror. The artist was Blondie and she was late for the show. They wanted the most non descript car to zip halfway through the clogged city to the venue.
He was like wtf, but fuckkit here we go.
He drove the Blondie singer from the hotel to the venue quick and easy like superman and saved the day.

Food waste is bad. In the US composting is becoming more popular. Even those a holes in Vegas are turning food waste into methane based fuel production. Covid started up a bunch of organizations doing second chance food distribution for food pantries. It’s hard in the US due to strict rules on food safety and lawsuit risk.
Imagine you change the script a little and it’s you getting a once in a lifetime unexpected VIP experience at your favorite venue to see your favorite celebrity/person. I think food waste might not be at the top of your concerns.
It’s been a long time since I read The Catcher in the Rye. A modern version of it would have Holden Caulfied somehow have this experience and be tormented by both sides of it, including your point of view. I’m not sure what he would do with the framed base and ticket afterwards.

There is always a small audience who responds to this type of message, most likely outside a first world country. The problem is that they spam broadcast to everyone, of which 99.99% laughs at it and ignores it. Those who do respond are vulnerable to the scam.
Some rings promise good wages overseas, and when people buy in to the scam they end up enslaved in a warehouse overseas.
This is a low cost spam message to find more victims to fill the overseas jails filled with workers committing high tech crimes.

Newer heat pumps are awesome. Northeast USA, with EcoEr brand. Two winters now close to single digits but rarely below freezing and it works like a charm. Mine is rated to operate to -40f. They had to wire it up for single heat source mode, by default they were wired for secondary heat source on the older models. Humidifier module can be added for winter comfort, my neighbor has that. Not sure what the cost tradeoff vs gas is, but it is definitely way cheaper than oil, which is what we replaced. What I like the most about it is that I can wave my two middle fingers at the oil industry and say hello to solar energy.
Summer cooling feels like Arctic cold, and comes with built in dehumidifier for comfort. It definitely works harder to heat in winter than cooling in the summer.
There are mini splits which require less construction, lower cost, with good cooling, but winter heat operating temp stops near 30f.
There’s lots of options out there depending on where you live , budget, needs.

Thank you for posting this. That was one of my favorite games growing up, I thought I was the only one left who remembered it. That mechanic was genius, switching between both parallel worlds and making changes that affected both so that both stories could progress. It must have been conceptualized by a student of physics who wanted to hold and feel the multiple parallel universe theory. That game alone had to have inspired its generation into science.
Better than movies, read Phillip k dick stories. So many of them became movies. Minority Report (2002) was a decent adaptation. Paycheck is truly great story, but terrible movie. A Little Something For Us Temponauts has not been ruined by hollywood yet. Its a really good time travel story.
