I agree, but I can also see it from the “why bother” angle. If a federal lawsuit can get appealed all the way to the Supreme Court, then Trump will almost certainly win anyway. Theater is much cheaper and quicker.

IIRC, they’re insanely fast. I think the turnaround time on a South Park episode is about one week, which is utterly ridiculous.

I don’t know if that Kirk episode will ever see the light of day, or if they’ll make any jokes about Kirk at all, especially while the Cheeto is in power. He’s repeatedly shown that he’s not afraid to abuse his authority.

My pessimistic prediction is that it would be toothless, underfunded, and hamstrung by red tape and loopholes. The rules would probably be written by the same corporations this agency is supposed to monitor.
