My sympathies to the victims and their loved ones, but from the outside, it’s utterly fascinating to watch this gradually get cracked.

Good for you. Laws are nice, but sometimes firepower is the best option for securing your rights - especially if you live in a country where DEI is sneered at.

I think women would be happier with toys instead of these guys, too. It’s win-win!

lol now THAT’S a brainteaser

Willy Wonka may not be hated, but he would definitely be vilified. There is no way a candy maker who refused to allow inspectors into his factory would be allowed to sell candy to the general public.
Plus, under the current administration, ICE would break in and forcibly deport (kidnap) all the Ommpa Loompas.

If I’d seen this at the top of the page instead of the bottom, I wouldn’t have bothered reading the article

It’s not an unreasonable idea. The parents should absolutely be held liable.
Exact responsibility would be virtually impossible to prove, though. Even a lawyer who graduated at the bottom of their class from a terrible law school could easily defend the accused parents.

“Religious freedom” doesn’t give people the right to endanger public health.

Totally understandable, even to someone who counts this film as a favorite. It is very slow moving.

She’s walking funny on purpose. Those are meant to be some kind of velcro or magnetic slippers she’s wearing. She’s walking carefully because she doesn’t want to go drifting around in microgravity while carrying a tray of food.
That’s my interpretation, anyway.

This film is my go-to whenever anyone mentions visual effects. If I were a director, this would be my gold standard for absolutely timeless effects.
I’m surprised that he didn’t insist on having his detailed image, a silhouette of his profile, or at least his signature on the label.

I’d probably have to resort to fraud. I’d just say I needed seed money for some AI bullshit, and BAM, I’d be swimming in cash overnight.

“It’s 100% natural!” “So is arsenic.” …
When I see “without chemicals” I just assume it’s shorthand for “without known harmful chemicals, probably” until I carefully read the label and learn more

Thank you for your valuable perspective. I was just thinking that I’d take it as a compliment, but then, I’m a guy.

Gross. I’m sorry you have to put up with that.

Superman.
Yeah, that’s an obvious choice, but I like his character more than his superpowers. He’s civil and polite to various world governments, but ultimately, there’s no stopping him from doing the right thing.
If he’s too powerful and that’s a negative to you, substitute Captain America. The same reasoning applies.

What determines what “too big” is?
Ease of travel and speed of travel. Even a small map can feel cumbersome, repetitive, and boring. If the missions are designed poorly, and the game mechanics ignore an entertaining user experience, walking down the same hallway a thousand times can feel like a chore.
“Too big” is a relative feeling that involves many factors.
What time is the vote? I don’t want to see words like “expected” all day.
