Gabe is absolutely right on this. If it doesn’t completely recenter the first person shooter genre, it’s not really a half life game.
Of course. That bro is OG and gonna throw a chair atcha.
Also within this very hypothetical scenario, the act of seeking a third term is after the hypothetical amendment, so there is no ex post facto in any case.
This time America voted for the felon to become a dictator
No, they just voted for the term that runs 2025-1-20 to 2029-1-20. The dictator thing might end up happening, but it’s not what was voted on.
Aka “Windows subsystem for Linux”
Also this classic xkcd
Oh no. Are you telling me that an xkcd numbered in the 2000s is a “classic” now? Yikes
Once upon a time, straight outta school, I wrote up solutions to problems from the Serway physics book. For Chegg. $5 per problem.
Fuck Chegg.
Ice cream is always about churning air into cream. But nowadays the air ratio has definitely gone up. Seemingly across the board.
And that assumes that you’re not buying a brand that has gotten into the fakery.
The democratic election was just one step in a long multi step process. This was true for the Nazis, and it is true for Trump.
To actually do all the stuff he wants to do, Trump will require people to cooperate with him. Do not give any cooperation from your end.
If he does something that’s illegal, litigate it in court. If he wants to pass an enabling act, filibuster that s***. If he wants to ban books, circumvent those book bans. Do not give up a single inch of ground willingly. For every person that is rounded up into a camp, some other fairly normal person had to choose to do that. Don’t. Trump can’t run these camps all by himself.
Here’s what I want say about that.
We’ve got a defense system against fascism here in the US of A called checks and balances, and another one called minority rights. And I think reasonable people should lean on those as hard as we can for as long as they remain viable options.
Fascism is something that comes to pass because people allow it to happen. Even now it is not yet inevitable. For example, Proud Boys and the other paramilitaries are not unified and they don’t control the streets. The best course of action is to resist at every opportunity.
I don’t think you can get a pardon on a civil judgement. You probably can be pardoned for any criminal contempt cases that arise from disobeying a civil judgement.
That could at least keep you out of jail, but federal judges have a federal Marshal service they can order around to repo assets if need be.
You’re correct that the states are more independent under the current interpretation of the law. GP is expecting the Supreme Court to overturn its own current interpretation to get that national abortion ban through.
They should take a page from Oklahoma…
Medical marijuana passes at around 55%… “Okay. The people have spoken. Guess we’re doin’ marijuana now.”
The Nate Silver model (at least) puts in a bunch of “corrections” for poll quality and historical bias from individual pollsters.
So you’re really playing a second or third level game of “Did Nate (or your other poll aggregator) correct for all the effects and biases, or did they miss something important?”
And we will never be able to validate if these odds are accurate or not, because this specific election will never be replayed again.
To plan the attack, authorities said he started in September with undercover employees of the FBI to an electric substation to do research. Authorities said Philippi purchased black powder for pipe bombs and C-4 explosive composition.
This whole paragraph reads like LLM speak… Sad.
I went there to try to find out the target, which was apparently an unspecified substation.
Due to technical reasons, it is possible to have many, many more cable or satellite channels than over the air broadcast channels.
The FCC is allowed to put “reasonable” restrictions on the content if the over the air channels because of that scarcity.
The default position in the US is that both cable and broadcast have a 1st amendment right to say whatever they want. The FCC is only allowed to infringe on that right for the broadcasters, because they are consuming a scarce public resource.
And they are all welcome back if they can satisfy the Linux Foundation that they’re not affiliated with a sanctioned entity on the SDN list.
I think it was right around 35% as you say. Unlikely, but not impossible for Trump to win. If Trump hit a one out of three lucky shot, that should be somewhat surprising, but not too very surprising.
Anyhow, he’s saying this one is an even coin flip.
Whichever speaker is elected in the House on Jan. 3.
