Coming from Gmail the proton search is a lot worse. Not unmanageable, but by far not as good.

If a website has a German version, try using that. By law every web page here must have an (pretty much) directly findable button to cancel your account. Even when you are logged out. It normally is positioned in the footer of the page. Search for “kündigen” on the page and fill in the form.

Note that not all pages still do this. But normally even just threatening to sue should add it, as they really wouldn’t be able to go against this in court. Tho crunchyroll does not seem to have this. Maybe I should create an account and do some trolling.

The part that is shared with cars is, yes. Still doesn’t mean that it should be shit. This problem is there because it does suck. The US is a stand out in regards to non-car safety in a bad way. Trying to blame it on cars only is stupid. Demand better infrastructure, not even more bloat on cars.

As much as I like the anti-car think, this really shouldn’t be blamed completely on cars. Especially in the US, pedestrian infrastructure in general is lacking. This includes thinks like sidewalks, but also proper lighting at places where people could be (See the sample image of a petrol station in the article, why are there no lights there?).

Additionaly, a lot of people dress dark with no reflection surfaces whatsoever (And some ciclelysts are insane enough to go without light at night). Try wearing stuff with some build-in reflectors at night. It does not need to be an ugly big yellow patch for that. I own a backpack with nicely worked in reflectory surfaces which makes me highly visible at night.

Ofc there is also a component to the Cars and drivers here, but if thermal cameras are the first solution someone can come up with, maybe the start needs to be somewhere else.

Overall: If I can see someone jaywalking on the autobahn about 800m in front of me while going 180kph and can react to that, the cities and villages in the US should probably have something similar in lighting and overall road elsetup.

Trotzdem finde ich es auch in Ordnung sich über den Zustand und die fehlenden Alternativen zum Bahn-Stillstand aufregen zu dürfen.

Ja, genau das ist der Punkt. Wir brauchen für die “Grundsicherung” eine echtes Staatliches unternehmen mit Beamten. Gib der Sache mit der DB einen guten Privatwirtschaftlichen Gegner, damit sich der Staat nicht auf Billliglohn und scheiß Arbeitsbedingungen ohne alternative ausruhen kann und schon sind die Streiks in der Gesellschaft nicht mehr so verhasst.

Natürlich ist die Bahn dran schuld. Aber genauso ist der Staat schuld, dass es für Leute keine Alternative gibt. Es kann gerne private Bahnunternehmen geben zur Taktverstärkung oder den Fernverkehr. Aber eine gewisse Grundfrequenz muss einfach durch den Staat bereitgestellt werden, um solche Einschränkungen zu vermeiden. Dann merkt die Bahn das auch am Ausfall der Einnahmen und nicht der Bürger und die Bahn.

Es gibt einen Unterschied zwischen “Probleme die durch die Natur auftreten” und “gewolltes Runterwirtschaften eines Betriebes” sowie “Stilllegung oder starke Störung von Grundlegender Infrastruktur”.

Wäre dasselbe auch bei Straßensperrung passiert? Vermutlich ja. Macht es den andauernden Ausfall der Bahn besser oder vertbar? Nein. Würde ich mich über beides aufregen? Ja.

Ich bin hier den Streikenden nicht böse, aber es ist trotzdem scheiße für mich, dass der Streik auf mich geht. Wenn irgendwo eine Fabrik stillsteht und ich nicht die Milka Schokolade bekomme, dann geht das nur auf den Hersteller. Streikt die Bahn geht das auf jeden, der darauf angewiesen ist. Es müsste einfach andere Möglichkeiten geben für die Arbeitnehmer zu streiken. Grundlegende Infrastruktur muss verfügbar sein. Das ist wie Wasser und Strom - Überleg Mal bei jedem Streik in den Branchen würde in ganz Deutschland Wasser oder Strom abgestellt werden - Das wäre auch nicht akzeptabel.

Genauso ist’s bei der Bahn. Wenn man dort zumindest durch einen staatlichen Betrieb einen Grundtakt hätte, wäre es für die Kunden nicht so schlimm und der schaden würde der DB durch Einnahmen-Ausfälle entstehen, nicht der Gesellschaft.
