Interesting first reaction. Pelosi is 82. McConnell is 81. Both have stepped down from power. Trump will be 79 next year, the first year of another 4 year term, yet I don’t see anyone talking about his age.

If you don’t see people talking about Trump’s age, then you weren’t watching the news for the last 4 months. The minute Biden backed out Trump’s age became a major talking point.

Biden,Pelosi and McConnell have stepped down from power. Trump will take the chair in a new term. Maybe instead of talking about all of them it would be good to focus on the real problem.

Of the 4 only Biden seems to be gone.

Agreed the problem is all the rich old people in power, but I think you only have an issue with certain ones in power

Representative government. If the people want to vote for an 82 year old Pelosi, who am I to say they shouldnt? Being in power is the important part.

In that case why would anyone be mad at trumps age when he got elected?

Do you have an actual argument/idea here other than trump bad?

Both have stepped down from power.

        https://sfstandard.com/2024/11/14/nancy-pelosi-congress-election-donald-trump-2026/

Nancy Pelosi files paperwork to run again — but plans remain vague

…and what about the news Pelosi was trying to kill AOC’s chances in committee and the DNC immediately pushed back to protect Pelosi’s fee wees? She would never do such a thing such as… that thing she has done her entire fucking career. Pretending Pelosi hasn’t done this kind of thing before and certainly isn’t doing it now is a joke. Being a power broker in the party is literally the story of her career.

Finally, stepping down from power should have been done when she was retirement age, which based on her age bracket would be pegged at 66. She’s 16 years past the reasonable expiration date of stepping down from a position of power.

DPelosi is not the caucus leader anymore. She doesn’t speak for the caucus, deal with Republicans, etc. She still has political power within the caucus. There’s a difference.

Oh yeah. If I remember right she had a primary opponent last election. Though I can’t say they’ve all been good through the years. It is San Francisco, so weird is usual.

I guess, she’s won quite a few terms in her district. Everytime someone primaries her, she destroys them.

Great. What would you like? The ultimate popularity poll for a political is an election, but what do you have in mind?

If people are disappointed in the system, maybe don’t say the system proves our leaders are popular. Saying just about anything else would be less of a turn off.
