Democrats will keep losing because that’s their sole purpose.

    Ratchet effect.

The Republicans tug on the levers of power pulling everything right.

The Democrats’ duty is to normalize and rationalize while the GOP resets for the next tug.

There are Democrats that do actually care, but the DNC leadership is well right of center and would rather lose to Trump than win with Burnie.

Democrats will always lose because liberals are right of center nimby turds that will continue to worship capitalism as we all burn.

Anyone expecting the Democrats to save them is ignoring this is the first election in decades no state Democrat contested any result and PA, NY, and NV all show results that are statically impossible and obviously manipulated.

People think the Democrats are losing relevance because they’re “Too woke”, and “No one cares about transpeople when there are bills to pay”

It’s really because they do shit like try to compromise with someone who wants to kill you by agreeing to let them cut off an arm.

At this point US needs leaders who can mobilize people and spearhead protest marches in the street. AOC is perfectly positioned to call for such protest march. If she does that and become figurehead of the Dem Allies against MuskTrump axis, she might get elevated to same status as MLK and may be even Lincoln. And on that note, why Kamala is quiet ?

And on that note, why Kamala is quiet ?

Kamala Harris is the new Hillary Clinton. The GOP boogeyman and now political poison after she embarrassingly lost to Donald Trump.

Kamala Harris was deeply unpopular both before and during the Biden administration, and (sorry to say it, but it’s true) she was largely picked because there was pressure for Biden to pick a minority female to “balance out” the fact that he was a white man. You know how some people, particularly (but not entirely) on the right, believe that affirmative action means that minorities end up getting positions that they otherwise probably wouldn’t have gotten because someone needs to fill a “diversity quota” or whatever? That’s how a lot of people felt about Harris – picked not because of her qualifications, but because she was a black woman.

She’s basically been the poster child for this as far as the GOP is concerned ever since. And not in a good way. Right now, with anti-DEI sentiment gaining traction in this country at a record pace and DEI initiatives becoming political battery acid, the last thing you want as the face of the movement is someone believed to be the poster child for DEI initiatives run amok.

I do not think AOC has remote same appeal or adeptness of rhetoric to ever do something like this. Would recommend listening to MLKs speeches if haven’t already. Someone like that will come eventually, but they can’t be forced into that position. Also, the situation has to call for it. If it were possible to wake up and choose to be MLK we’d have a million.

She was a failed candidate in 2020, picked based largely on identity for VP by a presidential nominee that was really only liked as a remnant from a administration for which he was also picked largely based on identity. Towed the party line during increasing displeasure with the party heads, then failed spectacularly in an election.

Even if I believed she truly had dreams of creating a better USA, it’s best for her to not be prominent member.

She’s saying the thing the Radical Tankie Left has been saying since the Clinton Era. It’s good to hear someone in her position repeating the message one more time. But the fact that it has to come from a fringe member of a fringe caucus, rather than - say - Hakeem Jefferies or Dick Durban, is depressing.

We’re so far away from a McConnell style “We’re going to make Obama a one-term President” moment. Liberals simply cannot understand politics as conflict. Its always just make’n deals for your district’s rich friends and stuffing your own pockets along the way.

Shit, Democrats don’t even give us a chance to primary, they just pick whoever they want.

In NJ, they had what was referred to as the county line, which would basically put the Democratic party’s candidate first on a ballot. It was abolished this year, but the idea was that the positioning on the ballot made it easier for people to just vote down the line, but the result was that you didn’t necessarily have a fair vote.

Here’s an idea. If we’re replacing the Democratic Party, let’s ONLY include people who aren’t traitors. Can we find five or ten people like that amongst the American population of 330 million people?

Nah, I’m just saying you’re being too picky. Right now, I don’t really think there’s anything wrong with rallying around a message of “Not Trump, Not Fascism”. You know, considering those are the things that are currently dismantling our democracy.

Calling people turncoats when they should be considered allies does nothing to fight the real, current threat in office. All this infighting just sets us back and puts us further down the road to fascism. This quest for the perfect liberal party is a waste of effort because it’s so pie-in-the-sky and borderline impossible to actually achieve in any meaningful length of time.

It sucks, but that’s reality. Our democracy is fucked, and trying to find even more idealist liberals to replace the likes of Bernie and AOC isn’t gonna fix it.

I could not have been more clear - I completely reject the idea that we should be preemptively compromising our morals in a hypothetical new party designed to replace the morally compromised Democratic party. This is literally INSANE. Like, can we as a society even brush our teeth without compromising with the perpetrators of genocide and global empire? You’re already PLANNING a moral compromise for a political party that doesn’t even EXIST yet?

The moral compromises we’re talking about are literally giving up on solving problems preemptively. You’re talking about making plans for the future, designing new things from scratch, you have every tool in the world at your disposal, a blank canvas, and you take a huge paintbrush and dip it into a whole house-sized can of black paint and just start smearing it everywhere.
