Well you see, Obama and Biden used unelected bureaucrats to destroy the country. On the other hand, Trump is fine because he will save us and fix everything.

(Honest to God, that is the TLDR of a conversation with some of my relatives)

Republicans & Conservatives would constantly cry, “They’re destroying the _______.”

The government? They’re just really in love with the government, this is what they’re known for?

No. The answer to that fill-in-the-blank is, “They’re destroying the COUNTRY.” Government /= country, it’s not even fucking close. This reminds me of when I’m “quoted” but they change the words. 😂 Changing words changes the whole context, usually to make me look worse & their arguments (artificially) look better.

Why would they complain? They literally voted for this

Now, what “this” actually is, depends on the point of view

What a succinct way of putting it. Tbh I suspect they may have done the same thing with calling the 2020 election “rigged” after the recent allegations about election fraud.

Where are the conservative conspiracy theorists who talked about Obama putting us in FEMA death camps? Where were they when we actually had refrigerated trucks full of corpses in NYC?

Every accusation is an admission, and diluting meaningful dialogue is entirely the point.

Only good faith interlocutors care about hypocrisy.

They blamed a shadowy, undefined “deep state” that was able to morph and change to be blamed for every single thing they felt was wrong with their life that has nothing to do with government.

Now they have brash public unelected officials who publicly do everything they can to undermine the government and it turns out when you can define what these people are doing it’s easier to ignore or make excuses for them.

Something something in-group laws protects but does not bind.

As long as it’s their guy doing the hurting of people it’s a good thing! /s
