It only took me 91 hours! Woohoo!

Forgive me for the dumb question, I've never actually played factorio… but I thought it was one of those "infinite" games without a win condition?

Edit: thanks for the explanation, all!

Yes and no. The "win" condition is building and launching a rocket to space. There's minimal additional content after that but it doesn't stop you from playing. You can always just keep building and improving your factory to keep launching rockets faster and faster. The developer is working on an extension where you keep playing on different planets and in space so pretty soon it'll take even longer to "win".

You can play it forever, if you want, but it does have a win condition

I will usually spend another 10-40 hours post-game optimizing designs and efficiency.

“Winning” is like making it to max level in a mmorpg. It’s not the end but it is the beginning of the endgame.

Every time I start, play 10 minutes, remember how much I'll have to work on the factory, give up, repeat

It's a issue I have with most factory games, or even games like Minecraft. I really enjoy mid-late game. Early game is almost always a slog… an important and fun one the first time, but after the first time…

As a rookie of 1300 hours, this game is by bar the best investment I've ever done in gaming.

Congratulations and now onto a deathworld run, after that I would say go for game changing mods such as space exploration and the like.
