I’m a simple guy who likes Jim Beam Black label, Jack, Woodford Reserve, etc. I’ve been swearing off American whiskeys since this tariff shit started. I just bought Bushmills for the first time and have been enjoying it.
I’m all for some suggestions. I’m not picky, so single malt, blended or whatever is fine. I just like to drink on the rocks or neat and want to enjoy the flavors. I’d be open to blue state whiskeys otherwise anything else is good.

❤️ Much thanks!
Check out your local distilleries, they likely have some good stuff.
Absolutely. I always forget about local distilleries.
Japanese whiskeys are great, but they can get expensive. Whiskeys made in blue states are likely to be more craft-oriented and also be expensive.

Most of those are in Napa/Sonoma/Paso, which are expensive wine areas. They mostly have $75/bottle bourbons.

Those are in Portland, and they are also quite expensive compared to Jack and Woodford.
Woodinville is from WA and is pretty good. A bit more expensive than your normal bourbons, but not crazy.
Thanks for the heads up. I’m willing to spend a little to try something!
I finished a giant bottle of that niagra whiskey last week and it was decent.
Thinking of trying a Japanese brand next week
Oh, nice! I’ll look for the Niagara one. What Japanese brand are you looking at?
I live in the Chicago area and we have a chain called Binny’s that carries a ton of alcohols from all over. I’d love to see if I can find these.
For relaxing times, I make it Suntory times.
Excellent! I’ll give that one a try.
Highly recommend the mid tier Jameson and Dingle whiskeys
Nice! I have always enjoyed the typical Jameson, but I’ll check out the mid tier stuff.
If you enjoy Jameson and the Bushmills give Tullamore Dew a shot. It’s another exceptionally smooth delicious Irish whiskey.
Redbreast or bust for my money.
But it’s weird to see Catholics and Protestants in the same comparison. We definitely live in a different time.

Teeling whiskey too is outrageous
American here. My wife and I are big fans of Jameson Black Barrel and Canada’s own “Swear Jar” whiskey.
Never had the Jameson black barrel. That’s a new one to try! Never heard of “Swear Nar” but I do like that name. 😃
Swear Jar is amazing. Hints of caramel and other deliciousness.
