    We buy from Fruiticana for veg and fruit, and staple items. It is half the price of Superstore most times. So if a tiny market store can undercut a giant grocer then you know the superstore prices are bullshit

    I always looked at their margins and thought people were crazy to assume a government funded monopoly could be any cheaper.

    What I failed to see was the real estate monopoly, like our housing market extortionate land use policies are how it maintains its oligopolistic position, and what drives up food prices. No different than the housing crisis the way a government becomes a solution is overriding municipal zoning laws, as they do with social housing.

    Why doesnt the government just withhold federal funding for municipals with regressive zoning laws, instead of throwing money into an easily identifiable cause.
