minus-squaresolrize@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·1 month agoWait if they had cooked the bear more, they’d have been eating dead worms instead of live ones? Safer I guess, but still not at all appetizing imho.
minus-squarecatloaf@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·1 month agoA lot of the meat you eat already has parasites in it. You probably have parasites in you right now. But they’re very, very small, and cooking kills them and their eggs just fine. You’d have to put the meat under a microscope to really see them.
minus-squareRemembertheApollo@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up0·1 month agoA lot? Trichinosis has almost been eliminated in pork. An old study looking for a particular parasite found little to none depending on the product. Here is another study showing very low incidence of parasites in meat products, but also includes fresh produce in the study which had higher rates than some meats. So I disagree that “A lot” is correct.
