Maybe you need some different mechanisms / models to allow what you are describing. But I’m sure we’ll get there sooner or later.

We really need to start thinking about how we can reorganize news and social media, because that is how fascism spread their nonsense. We need to somehow get money out of the media, so they are at least owned by their own staff as a kind of trust or coop. This wouldn’t keep anyone from saying what they believe.

The US is indeed in a very good position, having only two borders and two oceans between everyone else. They just need to get Mexico to mine their southern border, while they mine theirs.

But Europe, Russia, China, India have plenty of them and won’t be able to escape refuge streams or conflicts. Large parts of India might become uninhabitable. Food prices are going to fluctuate.
