Why open more registers when you can push people towards self-checkour? As a retail manager you should be trying to get your customers to work for you for free whenever possible.

That ceiling is supposed to be that way. The insulation is on top of the roof deck, and the lack of a suspended ceiling gives it a more open feel. That’s why they painted all of the roof structure white (it also allows them to use less power for lighting). Walmart has a lot of problems, but store design isn’t one (although retail layout is, IMO).
Civilization. While it CAN be a stressful game if you crank up the difficulty to Deity, at prince or king, it’s just so much fun.
With the advanced setup options, you can set up a game for however you are feeling at the time, explore a large world (however full or empty you want it), expand and watch your empire cover the map, learn and find all the new stuff in the world, conquer everybody, be a neutral power broker, launch into space.
It just feels nice.
I stumbled into the field of construction cost estimating, because I wasn’t watching where I was going, and it has been good to me. There’s only an education/certification requirement for the companies that do the largest commercial projects (at least in my region). However, there’s a pretty large job market because there are a ton of smaller commercial & residential builders.
I’ll never be wealthy, but I make a decent living, and my work/life balance is good. I primarily work in the office, but get out in the field enough to keep it from getting boring. There is also a good ability to move up into project management, which can pay better, but also has a higher stress level in general.
I guess it depends on whether you want things to be equal or equitable
If it’s ok for anyone to compete in men’s events, it should also be ok for anyone to compete in women’s events.
It’s not that people think they don’t work in the cold, it’s that they are less suited for the areas or days of extreme cold.
That’s just listing the whys and hows of "things get shittier ".
Form follows function! Not the other way around!
Enshittification doesn't mean "thing gets shittier"? Who knew?!
I wish that defense worked for me with the cops, LOL
Ebay's response: "This is unprecedented!"; not "This is a lie!", or "We're not guilty!".
If your best response is that the EPA hasn't prosecuted you this large before, then you must be super guilty.
As long as they are profitable, and the stock price is up, the stockholders wouldn't even question their user numbers.
To be fair, we only have their word for how many subscribers they have.
Seems like, at a certain point in your growth and success, you could use your billions to buy back stock. That could keep the stock price high, which keeps investors happy. Once you've bought back enough stock, you can effectively go private again, with all of the growth paid for by investors.
It becomes a torus.
Emby FTW! I left plex a couple of years ago, and Emby has been great.
I would like to have user-based tags, in addition to community, instance, and post-level. It’s nice to be able to rag the trolls or bad-faith actors.
It’s in our nature to destroy ourselves.
Somebody at some level is definitely thinking that way.
