Living in a red state this is how I thought of it, even if my vote is wasted at least maybe the world can see a majority (even if it’s slight) of Americans voted against trump numerically even if he wins.

saying “It’s a piece of cake” is the reason she falls down
Holy shit is that the reason why Jareth gets so pissy when Sarah says it again down in the tunnels and sends in the cleaners?
Looks like a damn goblin puppet from labyrinth
US backs down
Does the US back down? We definitely double down
Brauchli has publicly encouraged people not to cancel their Post subscriptions in protest.
“It is a way to send a message to ownership but it shoots you in the foot if you care about the kind of in-depth, quality journalism like the Post produces,”
The two sentences that made me lol. Of course the consumer is shooting itself in the foot not subscribing to a journal whose integrity is in question after one of the oligarchy decided it needed to suppress an endorsement. If the consumers weren’t shooting themselves, who else could it be? Certainly not the great Bezos!
Never heard of it, how is this distro for new users? I run mint for reference, but I’m always trying to learn about other distros.
I’m aware the Streisand effect is specifically regarding concealing info causing way more attention drawn to it, my point is that highlighting the fact that gamers hate Denuvo and trying to change that fact will most likely only amplify the hatred.
I will be more specific I hate any software that isn’t required for a game to work. The reason why I worded it vaguely is because I’m not just talking about DRM, but anti-cheat and launchers as well (even though launchers aren’t 3rd party).
As far as metrics are concerned I’m perfectly ok with that, as long as I have the option to opt-in or at the very least made aware of it.
What it really boils down to is I don’t want any unnecessary extraneous packages with the software that I actually want. For the most part I avoid games that add these things.
That’s why I avoid games with launchers for the most part. I also specified what I meant by third party software, I could have worded that more concisely.
I think them trying to win gamers over is just going to Streisand effect the hatred instead. I don’t want 3rd party anything that I don’t elect to install, even if it doesn’t effect the performance( which I also don’t buy).
Mint’s sweet I switched from 10 a few months back. Biggest difference is getting use to the different file system, only 2 games have been unplayable (didn’t try to make them work tbh).
A Nation in active conflict cannot join NATO, you silly silly person
Eh I’ll take it, better than reading about candidates continuing to defend a fake news conspiracy about immigrants eating pets or whatever horrible thing they focus on next
As sad as it is, it’s actually kinda refreshing to see a mundane headline regarding politics
Yeah it only being supported on pixel is what made me lose interest too but there is a good reason why it’s specifically pixel phones, it’s one of the only phones that doesn’t have a bootlocker/ you can disable it. GrapheneOS can’t operate on phones with a bootlocker. I could be a little off on this explanation but that’s the gist I remember.
Most of his reform so far has focused more on making the current paths that existed more obtainable, ex: public service loan forgiveness. So he has made student loan forgiveness where you meet specific qualifications much better, which is very helpful, but not everyone qualifies.
Blanket student loan forgiveness hasn’t happened, because it was successfully blocked by the Republicans (after like 4 attempts). I assume this is referring to blanket forgiveness.
Could be wrong on all this, if anyone spots something incorrect just say it.
We’ve been having this discussion in the group I game/ play TTRPGs with. Like 7 of us total all windows, me and another switched to Linux, a third is a computational scientist who is forced to work with redhat frequently, and a fourth member was thinking of switching. After me and member 2 switched, member 4 saw that we had problems (entirely discord for me, all games have honestly worked so far) and changed his mind about switching because he doesn’t want to deal with stuff not working OOTB.
I can’t fault people who want that, hell I do, Linux is well worth it to me but I will begrudgingly admit there are draw backs to Linux.
I’ve thought very hard about doing this. I used to be the same way and have changed my thinking. The problem is I don’t think I can properly articulate this because 1. I am still trying to swallow that pill 2. I would just feel like a hypocrite so I wouldn’t be able to deliver properly.
I do encourage others who do have the capability to try to point out the issues with single-issue voting.
but you’re probably living in a bit of a bubble.
That’s pretty fair and probably pretty accurate, what I will say is I live in a deeeeeep red state but most of my interactions are with post college gen Z so that almost certainly skewes it toward the left.
A lot of men, across all age ranges, tend to lean fascist. There’s a lot of reasons for this, but the core problem is that progressive neoliberalism does a terrible job speaking to cis-het male anxieties, while fascism welcomes them with open arms
Yeah I try to explain this to people who aren’t white males, it’s definitely a big issue. I didn’t mean to downplay this particular issue, and make no mistake I do view it as a major issue, but I do view this as a pretty fringe group % wise. Now that can definitely change very very rapidly but I personally haven’t seen it trend towards that yet, I would say the white male -> fascist pipeline started in the mid 2010’s and while it’s grown gen Z seems to ,as a whole, still be very very progress.
Obviously this is all biased in my opinion and experiences which isn’t a good indicator of reality but I do hold this opinion until I see/read something which can change that.
Every gen Z kid I know is having an issue trying to pick a pro-Palestine candidate. They seem to dislike Biden more than Harris, but I have never heard of trump support. I’m sure some amount of gen Z are trumpers but they are a minority, saying young male voters are “flocking” to trump is pretty silly. “There are literally dozens of us!”
Linux, while overall almost botherless, still looses to windows.
Been using mint for around 2 months and I would say this is pretty accurate. Pretty much every game I play works out of the box. Discord however crashes the whole system sometimes and I can’t figure out why. Would still recommend Linux over windows but you will for sure encounter more issues.
I do partially agree with your sentiment but the biggest issue is the Democratic party itself.
In my mind if they hadn’t ham fisted Hilary in '16 none of this would have happened in the first place and that’s only the tip of the iceberg of that parties failings.
