  • I’ve spoken to a few single issue voters.

They might identify with the conservatives as a group, but they are definitely voting Republican for a single issue.

One lady was abortion, and three off the top of my head were guns.

I wholeheartedly agree and have been ranting about lobbying and term limits for ppfffff I literally don’t even know how long now.

    Lobbying is absolutely insanity.

Term limits, age limits, like you can kind of see why those bad decisions had been made in the first place and need to be rectified, but lobbying is just insanity.

A lot of advertising in the states is crazy.

Like did you know that there’s only two countries in the world that can advertise prescription medicine, and one of them is the United States?

The other is strangely New Zealand.

Marketing medicine is bonkers, like absolutely bonkers.

  • I agree about gun zealotry, but if those are your two issues:

    1. Biden has said he does not want to restrict most guns, but he does want to protect children.

Trump instituted gun control measures over his administration, and as with everything else has said he supports gun control and says he doesn’t support gun control depending on which crowd he’s talking to.

I guess you can consider that a wash.

    1. But racial Justice? Clearly Biden all the way.

On those two points, biden’s clearly ahead.

If that guy is still undecided, then he cares significantly more about guns than he cares about racial justice or national leadership.

  • How is that a tough choice?

First, Biden isn’t talking about banning all guns, he wants to regulate assault rifles and institute mandated background checks to stop children from being shot in their own neighborhoods every day.

Then, his administration includes the first black vice president, 25 appointed black judges, wrote that executive order about protecting minority voting rights since they’re targeted so often.

On the other side, dumps will say anything to get you to vote for him, and goes back on his promises anytime it’s personally inconvenient, so you can’t trust anything he says on guns or racial Justice.

Trump has apparently has given zero thought to racial Justice, which shouldn’t be surprising to anyone.

  • Definitely. If they say something non-specific like " that sounds great" or " I wish I could do that", I don’t pursue the topic at all.

It’s more after we have a conversation including “Do you think I could do that too? How? Can you help me do it?” And I have to provide specific answers or show them and then receive the brunt of their ire or dismissal.

It is so satisfying when I do help someone achieve their goals, though, that if I am asked specific questions I usually help, even if nine out of 10 people will balk at the opportunity once they can see it in front of them.
