Hello Mondo
Klaatu Berada N… necktie? nectar?
Love this! Did you start out on the Fediverse or did you start on another and then move to your own?
I ask because I’ve been considering hosting my own for the family. I already have a server.
The thing holding me back is I’ve gotten my Mastodon and Lemmy accounts really nice with content and it’s daunting to think of moving/remaking accounts.
In my city/county, you get a free card if you can prove you live here (show something with your address) Our system will also do fundraisers to supplement the budget from taxes. We almost lost some libraries a gew years ago, but voters remade the local government and they are safer now.
I wish I had a clever Linux joke response.
But, no joke, what is it like to ride one? I imagine them somewhere between smooth comfort and speed demons.
She is an incredibly prolific songwriter for other people as well. There’s a decent chance you like a song she wrote that is performed by someone else - if that makes you feel any better about your sacrilege (smiley face emoji)
I heard her tell a story about how she entered a Dolly Parton drag competition on a whim. She was delighted that she lost!
What kind of chair is this, if you don’t mind?

All aircraft are tracked. These screenshots are from a website that shows all the flight paths in real-time, or close to it.
In general you can see the aircraft type and call-sign(?), owner, point of origin, and destination. Sometimes owner and destination are obscured for varying reasons.
These particular screenshots are showing flights that originated from Russia
I was never really into twitter, but I like Mastodon a lot. It takes some time to find people to follow (but can be fun to do in the micro breaks)
My Mastodon feed is pretty active now with stuff I’m interested in. If you were on reddit to keep up with the news, that’s doable on Mastodon.
What are some of the niche communities you are missing? Maybe they are here just harder to find?
If you like books, maybe switch to short stories? I found when I didn’t have time for novels, they were great alternative. Especially stuff like Neil Gaiman or collections of authors. Or like NG’s Norse Mythology or Stephen Fry’s Mythos. I listened to them on audio though because they are great story tellers and if I lost track it was easy to start the story over.
Also I love how his colors coordinate with the blanket! He’s very pretty
My cats do that too, they also drool in two specific circumstances even if you aren’t petting them.
One, the gray cat when you are holding her and your hair is long enough to stick her face in, she’ll drool in your hair. No petting really required.
Two, if the tabby is in your lap making biscuits she drools. Sometimes she’ll make a little slurpy sound first like she’s trying not to.
Yeah, it’s not that we don’t care, there’s nothing we can do except vote. It’s like stalking laws, there’s nothing that can be done until someone gets hurt.
Seriously, thank you for posting this. My dad’s computer needs an upgrade and most of what he does is the solitaire games on it. This would have been stroke inducing to discover after the fact.
What if I say you often get speeding tickets while driving, but you’ve never been stopped by the cops for anything, or you got one speeding ticket 10 years ago? If I keep repeating that you “often get speeding tickets” and it gets you fired - did I not hurt you with a lie?
Notice I’m not accusing you of speeding. I’m saying you often get ticketed, something that can be verified
He’s not accusing the judge of “often making wrong or bad decisions” He is saying “often overturned decisions” Has the judge been overturned in these proceedings? Because another federal judge in one of his other cases has been overturned, but he’s not posting about that judge being unfair or “often overturned”
I feel like there’s a difference, but maybe using “often” murks it up just enough. Like using alleged, “it’s possible”, or “people say” to spread rumors.
What about “often overturned”? That seems like a fact that could potentially be proven or disproven.
Especially if the judge has never been overturned, or never/rarely overturned in the context or timeframe of these cases. Assuming that is a false fact for this judge, I don’t know his stats.
Another judge on his cases has been potentially been “often overturned” based on percentages of total cases/rulings?
