Black is white. Up is down. Evil is good. Classic Trump deception.

29·4 days agoA racket ball. I carry it around and bounce it to myself and play catch when I’m bored or walking somewhere. Way more fun than a fidget spinner and I’m building hand-eye coordination.

I want to smell and taste the blue whale candies from my youth. They were different and I miss them.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What kind of job can you never imagine yourself doing?
5·7 days agoRetail Security. I just don’t give a shit to protect monied interests from regular folks trying to save some $$.
Not to mention the boredom of standing around all day.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some car lovers oppose bike infrastructure, when more bikes would mean fewer cars on the road?
3·8 days agoVehicle users should pay for the cost of transit and cycling infrastructure via a tax on gasoline. This could allow transit to be free of charge. Don’t want to pay the gas tax? Take the bus for free. Everyone wins.

163·10 days agoWhy does it say that Grok is doing this? Wouldn’t it be more accurate to say that real people are using Grok as a tool to create this shit? Like place the blame where it belongs.

Canada@lemmy.ca•‘Incredible alignment’: Canada is picking away at an oil and gas industry wish list
5·14 days agoI don’t get it. He wrote a book in which he says that “He believes in the reality of human-driven climate change and the risks it poses to life on this planet.” (link) so I guess he’s making these fossil fuel concessions for the sake of the economy? If he truly understands the risks, what he’s doing seems extremely short sighted.
Maybe our economy is so reliant on fossil fuels we can’t simply stop building new infrastructure? Maybe he knows that solar & batteries are growing so fast that these pro-fossil fuel deals are like a “last meal” to a dying industry? I don’t understand.
Gorgeous lettering!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When/how frequently do you replace your phone with a new one?
5·26 days agoI use my phones until they’re limping and pleading me to just let them die. At that point I look on the used market and buy the best previous-gen phone I can find for the cheapest price, then repeat. I’m not a fan of cell contracts - I like to buy my phone outright to keep my monthly bill as low as possible.
Up until now I was only buying used Pixels so I could install Graphene, but if Goog ever locks the bootloader or anything like that I will move to something else supported by Graphene.
Or maybe just revert to dumbphone and start carrying a small ultralight laptop around for internet stuff. Probably less doomscrolling that way.
