I don’t know how America survives without roller shutters. It’s blackout dark in my home whenever I want it to.

If you haven’t voted for Harris because of Gaza, congratulations. You sealed the fate of the remaining people living there. The US will increase their support and Bibi will feel more confident than ever. Palestine may be wiped out all together.
It doesn’t fucking matter that Harris isn’t everything you want from a president. She’s far from perfect. I don’t like her policies. The reality is that it was a choice between a conservative and a fascist. America chose fascism and the world will suffer.
Being a leftist and not voting because LoW aPpRoVaL is unbelievably irresponsible and I refuse to make excuses for people who stayed home.
Also you need a critical mass of people for a revolution to be successful. I don’t see that any time soon.
We run a lot of Windows servers for specialized applications that don’t really have viable alternatives. It sucks, but it’s the same reason we use Windows clients.
Even if Trump doesn’t further dismantle the already weak democratic systems in the US, the consequences of this election will be felt for many decades to come. Western allies will be ostracized, international climate efforts won’t have a bloody chance now, authoritarianism will rise all around the world. Palestine will likely cease to exist, so may Ukraine and Georgia.
Lots of innocent people will die just because they happen to be LGBTQ or pregnant or not white. Poverty will increase. The courts will be filled with right-wing judges.
This election might be the most consequential political outcome ever since Hitler was appointed chancellor. It will be a fucking nightmare.
And every idiot who didn’t vote for Harris is partly responsible. There is no bloody excuse.
Can we stop pretending this election was about Gaza?
- No more environment
That won’t be a problem. America will simply be towed outside the environment.
The US voting system is horrible for democracy. A two party system is inevitable the way it works. And with only two parties, it’s inevitable that many aren’t represented.
It doesn’t matter who the candidates are, the system is fucked and needed substantial reform decades ago.
The only thing you can do as a voter is not elect the literal fascist maniac and hope for the best.
It’s not for everyone I guess. But if you liked the original, I think you’ll enjoy the remake.
I’m playing the resident evil 4 remake right now and it’s amazingly good. Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition also comes to mind.
I’m playing it right now and I’m almost done. I think it’s the best remake I ever played. They preserved what was good and reworked what was bad.
“Hands down”
It’s incomprehensibly bad. The later seasons ahead of the books all had their problems, but the last one is just…
It’s completely lost on me how something like that can happen to such a big production. GoT was the hottest pop culture shit for years but after season eight, we just collectively stopped talking about it.
Wait a second.
Do people really usually have a more vivid picture in their heads? It’s always just concepts with me. I’m confused.
I don’t think lemmy is relevant enough for companies to target. The user base is tiny.
Typically, atheists don’t spend a lot of time thinking about gods. Also, most theists aren’t just theists, they follow a very specific religion/god, which is orders of magnitude less reasonable.
World building and storytelling are top notch.
I personally found the gameplay a little lackluster here and there. Even on the hardest difficulty, I never really had to use potions for example. And looting never felt good to me, it feels very Diablo-esque in that you keep finding a sword that does +2 damage to your previous one. It rarely feels meaningful to loot anything.
Still an amazing game of course.
it was a really interesting video with a lot of effort and research put in
Like all of Alec’s videos :)
Except for the also outstanding KDE Connect which could just be called Konnect.
A walk in the park is a lot better, yeah.
